Golf Course Rules
- Sandbags with sand are compulsory to fill all divots
- Fix all pitch marks on greens
- All bunker rakes are to be left in the bunker facing the green
- There is a compulsory 10-minute halfway house stop between nines
- Playing time must not exceed 2 hours : 10 minutes per nine
- Please keep up to the 4-ball in front of you at all times
- Golfers must be on the tee 10 minutes before their tee-off time
Mobile Phone Policy
The use of mobile phones is forbidden on the golf course, driving range and within most of the clubhouse. There are designated areas in the clubhouse where mobile phones are allowed.
Smoking policy
As required by South African law, smoking is not permitted in and around the clubhouse.
Dress Regulations – Golf Course and Practice Facilities
Steenberg Golf Club is a privately owned golfing and residential estate. Recognised golf attire is required at all times when making use of the golf course and our practice facilities. The authority is vested with the Director of Golf to decide what is appropriate for the club. Please assist us in avoiding an unpleasant situation by adhering to this policy.
Specifically noted:
- Golf shirts, unless tailored waist length, are to be tucked in at all times
- No cargo-styled with side pocket pants or shorts
- All socks to be visible
- Soft spike or rubber soled golf shoes only
- Juniors & medical certificates are allowed to wear trainers/gym shoe
Dress Regulations – Clubhouse
We encourage our guests to wear socially accepted and appropriate attire to maintain a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere in our Club. You are welcome to wear your caps on the outside terrace.
Steenberg Golf Club Caddie Rule
All visiting players not accompanied by a Steenberg Member, are encouraged to hire a caddy.
Caddies are an integral part of the Steenberg Experience, assisting with tasks such as raking bunkers, filling divots, fixing pitch marks, ball spotting, and ensuring players maintain a steady pace of play.
